*Update*

I found out from my supervisor at the office that a complaint was filed against me. The complaint wasn't that I was rude or unkind to the lady with the baby carrier blocking my spot, which I expected. The complaint was that I was racist.

At this time, I feel very fortunate to have great support from my supervisor, who I feel really believes in me. I will be changing my route within two weeks, thankfully. I'll be driving a minibus with 17 kids.....I honestly don't know how I'll cope....:)

Hmm. Racist? Perhaps I should ask her if she's racist - after all, I at least gave the woman enough credit for being intelligent enough to understand road signs. She, obviously, does not give this woman enough credit, because she is an immigrant.

The other day, the neighborhood (which is 80% Pakistan) boys asked Myles and Cassidy if they could borrow their sled. They told them no because the last time they let them, they almost had to break arms to get it back! The kids yelled "you're just racist!!" UGH.

I know I'm gonna really need to pray through this one myself, ladies. 'Cuz I also found out yesterday that if the worst were to happen, and a child was hit by a car while walking in front of it to get to my DOUBLE PARKED bus (even though MY spot is taken), that there is a definite possibility that I could be held at least partly liable. I am definitely going to research this in this coming week because there will be a meeting with this school next week, with me, my supervisor, my safety instructor and the new (unfortunate) driver taking over this route. They have to know that not only are the children put at risk, the bus driver is as well.

Dar, you know my thoughts on this one. The only other thing I can say for all to read is this...they are blasted lucky it isn't me they are dealing with!!! I was so angry over this and I was so wanting to fight this one for you! Ha, kinda reminds me of when we were kids and Darren was pickin' on you and I decided to teach him a lesson. lol

Know what else? Why didn't that "stellar" principal call in the complaint against you herself? Is she trying to "keep her nose clean on paper"? I really cannot stand gutless, backstabbing wimps!

There, is that strong enough for you? I probably would have been suspended by now! You are much kinder, my sweet sister! Love you and am with you!

All will be well, Darla. Be patient and keep the law of kindness in your tongue. (Like I'm one to talk!!) Somehow God always turns these situations around for the better. He must have a better yes...

Rachel, you can rest assured that I will try with all of my might not say everything I think during our meeting. That's what I have a blog for. So I can vent what I REALLY want to say.

That being said, I have given notice and in two weeks I will be done driving school bus. There is more to that than just this situation, one I will not get into on my blog.

It's time to start in a new direction, and frankly, I'm ready to embrace it.

You did what you could, Darla, and you may never know just how much you impacted those kids. As hard as it is to leave them (and I miss fostering in a way...), you must do what is best for you and your family. But, God knows and whatever door He opens will be better than the last (something I've learned the hard way...).

Wow.

Ignorance at it's finest, eh? At least your supervisor is in your "amen corner".

I'm sure getting a smaller bus and group of kids will be a huge sigh of relief for you.

Praying all the best works out! I always enjoy reading your stories :)
