I love early spring. The freshness of it. The promise of new beginnings. WARMER weather.
I hate the sun rising at a totally stupid hour.
Because.........
That means my kids come out of their winter hibernation where they slept until 8:00 (most of the time, anyway) - because the sun was still sleeping - to bouncing out of bed at the first hint of that blasted SUN.
It kinda conflicts with this night-owl mother.
This morning, my daughter awoke between 6:00 and 6:30. Just after 7:00, they decided it was time to play ping-pong in the hallway.....
"Sorry, mom, we'll.....uh.....just shut your bedroom door......'cuz we need all the doors closed in order to play ping-pong....." my daughter informed me.
Remembering the days where my brother and youngest sister (the Montreal Canadiens) teamed up against my oldest sister and I (the Toronto Maple Leafs) in the hallway of our mobile home - playing hockey with bent spoons and tin foil - I was moved with.....slight.....compassion.
But we DID NOT play at 7:00 in the morning!
(I think our parents drugged us or something.....)

I think you had a slight memory lapse...we were the Canadiens cause I would never be the Leafs! Not then anyway. That's too funny. I hated Kim's slapshot's with that blasted tinfoil, they hurt. What fun and fond memories.
We played hockey with a dead fly and flip-flops on on of my expeditions...then the fly started twitching, and fell to pieces..what a fake..
My memory tells me that Kim HAD to be either Guy Lafleur or Ken Dryden.....how could he have been the Maple Leafs? I think it's a sign of your age.........
Rachel, that is disgusting!.....
My trick to keep Levi sleeping until 8 or 9am (and napping mid day) is: I bought some thick, dark fleece fabric and fastened it to the window frame using quilting tacks which causes a 'black out' effect. Since he doesn't play in there, the lack of natural sunlight isn't a problem... :) (and, the fabric looks nicer from the outside than tinfoil like some people use) Something to consider during these sunshiney mornings!
...Darla is right!! Laura, your memory is not too sharp on this one. Kim would never play any type of hockey unless we were the Montreal Canadians....Ken Dryden & Guy LaFleur!!
I didn't have to worry about slapshots against you 2 girls....I hated when you go and shoot the tin foil ball when it was right beside the wall, and scrape my fingers against that pressboard wall and get slivers.
Then there is all quick "crapping of the pants" as soon as we heard mom come in to quickly try and straighten the spoons and sneak them back into the cutlery drawer.......
Lana
......oh and Laura, take that back!!!! There is nothing wrong with the Leafs...don't make me kwok you! Or I will tell dad!
Lana
I suppose even a roll down blind would help, Rachel, since Seth's room is his main play room. Something to consider. Thanks for the suggestion.
See Laura. Lana has confirmed it. You're mind is "slipping". I'll be praying for you.
Yeah, like mom really didn't know we were playing hockey......with her bent spoons. She was a pretty good sport about it.
With her bend spoons? HAHAHAHAH MOMMMM We were good kids!!!!!!!!
