We had the crib in the middle of the bedroom with both kids in it to try and keep them out of mischeif. When they got a little tired of being confined, we let them out to play for a while. Shannon still does most of the painting because I am not quite fast enough for him...he paints like he cuts the lawn...one speed. So, yup the laywer word is almost mentioned a few times during renos!Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04830152332595760689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5754813035262036348.post-40039838221381469182008-05-22T14:30:00.000-06:002008-05-22T14:30:00.000-06:00I give you credit for doing renovations with any h...I give you credit for doing renovations with any husband. I don't think we would be able to paint our house, or me do the painting, and him doing another project without the "inspector" looking over my shoulder all the time. We would definately have some ummmm very heated discussions. Will does not even hang a new blind (you know those expensive $7.99 Walmart ones..) without getting heated, and grouchy. I stay away, but then I will bring him a cold beverage, preferably with Coors on the label, and it makes a teeny bit happier.
We did landscaping last year, one retaining wall in our front yard. I got to put down a grand total of 5 stones, out of about 400. I could not take him watching me as he was working on one side, and I was doing the other....I was about one one thousanth of a millimeter out, so I was fired.
I remember Laura once saying the home renovations are at times a recipe for lawyer fees.

LanaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5754813035262036348.post-11970442816533926932008-05-22T12:12:00.000-06:002008-05-22T12:12:00.000-06:00Amanda: Thanks very much for your comment. The paint manager at Home Depot gave me free primer (I am only 1/3 done my red walls) and told me to bring back any unused red paint for credit (since I have five gallons, total). On top of that, hubs, without me asking, said we could put crown moulding on the top of the walls all the way around the living room, dining room and hallway!

I think I'll hold off on that lawyer for another day.....Darlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07255532553760304422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5754813035262036348.post-69210331539900358482008-05-22T06:57:00.000-06:002008-05-22T06:57:00.000-06:00Oh Darla! What a crazy few days!

When I painted my room cranberry red -- yes I used primer -- no it wasn't Behr paint -- I needed 2 coats of tinted primer and 5 coats of paint. Apparently because the tint used to make the paint red is somewhat transparent and to get a dark red they have to use so much, this is common for dark red paints. At least this is what the Home Depot guy told me....Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08694338118792268576noreply@blogger.com
